Summer; well that ended fast. Tryouts are here or have just recently happened and everyone is finding their seats for the upcoming season.

Our early season youth hockey tournaments in Michigan, the Veterans Cup and Early Bird have historically produced competitive brackets, allowing teams to compete against similar skill levels while learning how players will work with one another after a long off season.

Even just watching or studying these other sports can help athletes open their eyes to new concepts that they can use on the ice.

The key point is allowing the body and mind to wander from the game from time to time to refresh the hunger inside to be the best one can be.

Are they focused on player development or simply winning games and banners? Pick a coach that puts development first, who isn’t interested in personal accolades. You’ll have a much better experience when you do.

Boys and Girls Youth Hockey tournaments are about having fun and making memories with teammates and family members.
